Spider Jenkins was concocted in early 2004. It's an organic, spooky, macabre, and just plain fun tale. There are ghosts, guns, funny characters, bad habits, and a slew of other such things. I'm trying to work in some of my favorite genres and influences, everything from music, art, and literature, to dollar store Halloween decorations. There's no specific time setting, but it's reminiscent of the early 1900s in America, with some steam-punk stylings thrown in. The story centers around a traveling freak show, and their beloved son, Spider Jenkins. It's about family, and the ability to stand proud for who, or what, you are. And about Spider's talent, to keep the not-too-pleasant aspects of the spirit world in check.

The initial story arch is going to be done in a graphic novel form, where one page is text and the next is a full image. The artwork will be produced in full color mixed media, but subtle and muted, involving everything from ink, paint, digital, photo, collage, and pretty much whatever else I want to use. It's no-holds-barred. I'm using this as a test of my skill, patience, and creativity.
