Jill Christine
Born in New York City and raised in southern Florida, Jill Christine has
the techno heartbeat of Manhattan in her blood and the whisper of wild
marshland in her memory. She cut her literary teeth on writers like Stephen
King, and considers Emily Brontë a long-lost soul sister. After studying
literature, history, psychology and anthropology at Florida Gulf Coast
University, Jill set out to work full time for her muses, all of whom
feature in her upcoming series of novels, THE SHADES OF SHADOW.

THE SHADES OF SHADOW is a series of supernatural realism novels written for
the mainstream/commercial fiction market. I began writing the first volume
in 2001, when I found myself with a trio of characters who needed their
stories told. The novels follow a specific collection of individuals as they
interact with the modern world while still keeping well below society's
radar. Several of those individuals happen to be vampires, but it's a
mistake to categorize SHADES as vampire fiction (or horror, or sci-fi).
Anyone who thinks of vamps as hissing Draculas or Anne Rice-style flashy
Frenchmen has simply never met Aidan Brennan. Aidan is a technological guru
and a Springsteen fan, a calculating businessman and a master craftsman, a
fierce protector and a relentless predator with a past he refuses to
acknowledge. Along with his vampiric brother, Rory O'Connor, and Rory's
mortal companion, Miriam McKay, Aidan roams the shadowed streets of
Manhattan, quietly making the borough his own.

SHADES uses a unique variety of narrative techniques to give readers a true
glimpse into the lives of its characters. The first volume includes letters,
online correspondence, narrative excerpts, and Miriam's first-person
narration; the story takes its audience from 19th century Ireland to the
modern world of internet romances and role-playing games. Two more volumes
are currently in progress, and I am presently seeking representation for the
series.
